The temporary closet

Way back in April, I blogged about making over my closet. Other than giving me something constructive to do for a few hours, there really wasn't much point in doing that. Because this is what the closet looks like now:

See that black rectangle on the floor? That's where our closet used to stand! DH is doing a complete overhaul on our house (and a fine job he is doing!). This old farmhouse did not have closets in the bedrooms; the main one was in the laundry room, one in the hallway and one in the bathroom. Now there aren't any closets left in the house except for the bathroom, so he hung the closet rod in the room formerly known as the Master Bedroom. This is in the section of the house without air conditioning, open to the attic and all the constructing, but it's the only place that will accommodate a rod hanging from the exposed rafters. Hence, the sheets draped over our clothes and shoes.

Yes, those are cabinets sitting on the floor under the "closet". Those used to hang above the washer and dryer and hold pantry goods. Boo's table now holds my stash of free evaporated milk while also acting as a carport for his Zoomy Toy.

Someday, in the distant future, I will blog about my brand-new, in-the-bedroom closet!
